Role & Appointment
Since February 2025, Prof. Herrera has served as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Head of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Institute at Burjeel Holdings and Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi, leading a multidisciplinary team delivering specialized, humanized care to mothers and babies facing fetal anomalies.
He first joined Burjeel Medical City in May 2022 as Visiting Physician-Specialist in Fetal Surgery & Therapy, creating the complete and comprehensive Fetal Surgery & Therapy Centre, before taking on institute-wide leadership in 2025.
